Thank you!! Our 1st Chair Target Reached! 椅子のご支援ありがとうございました！

Thank you so much to everyone who donated chairs for the HOME- FOR- ALL project in Kumamoto. They arrived safely and already in use. There was nice article in the city newspaper The Kumanichi Shinbun. It is now confirmed that 70 HOME-FOR-ALL will be built, scattered amongst 3,500 temporary homes. It is wonderful to be building on all our experiences in Tohoku to help in Kumamoto.

熊本みんなの家への椅子のご支援をいただきありがとうございました。10-20脚を目標にしていましたが、全部で18脚の椅子を寄付いただきました。無事みんなの家に到着し、地元の方にも使用していただいています。贈呈した際の様子が、熊本日日新聞に掲載以下のとおり掲載されました。現在約3,500の仮設住宅のうち、70程度のみんなの家が建設予定です。東北での経験を、こうして熊本で生かせることになり、とても嬉しく思います。

There will be need for more furniture as the homes get built. Please drop by the web site to see progress and check for further appeals - we would like to ask for more now but we have no were to store chairs and furniture until the home are built - so we have to ask on a 'as needed basis'. みんなの家が完成するにつれ、更なる椅子が必要となります。ただし受け入れる側の準備もありますので、必要な時期がきたら皆さんにまたお願いをさせていただきます。ぜひ進捗状況をこちらでチェックしてください。

Construction already underway in Kumamoto 熊本みんなの家が建設中

Work has already begun in Kumamoto on the construction of over 2,000 units of temporary housing. In fact the first units are learning completion and what we need is furniture to make the homes liveable.
熊本では、2,000以上の仮設住宅の建設が始まりました。すでに一つのみんなの家が完成間近で、この家を本当に使えるものにするため、家具が必要です。

The units are being built by the Prefecture of Kumamoto directed by Toyo Ito's office and building on the experience gain through Home for All projects in Tohoku.

すでに東北みんなの家で経験したことを元に、伊東豊雄建築設計事務所と熊本県が一体となって進めています。

The units are being built on flat safe agricultural land and are planned to have a life of 5 - 10 years.

仮設住宅は平坦で安全な農地に建てられ、5-10年間は居住が許される予定です。
